From Speaking Out for Deaf Childhood Rights: When I was a child, I didn’t know anything about Deaf culture. I met alot of deaf kids, but those kids were learning to speak, too, and few of them knew Sign Language. Now I am in Deaf culture, and I am so angry at myself for not being involved in Deaf culture when I was younger. I am aware that it isn’t my fault, but I am still mad at myself. I do not blame my parents for sending me to oral school when I was younger. I am mad at the doctor and others who urged my parents to send me to this school. I am not blaming other parents who send their child to school to learn to speak. I blame those who recommend this to parents.
