BMC Policy

In the interest of our health and safety, here is our current policy with regard to COVID-19.

Updates are changing daily, and various locations seem unaffected at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and let everyone know if there is a need to cancel.

Meanwhile, if anyone has tested positive for the virus or if anyone shows symptoms of the virus, we ask that they inform us and not attend the seminar. We can discuss the financial resolution at that time.

Thank you for your patience and I assure you we will not take risks endangering your health and well being.

Take care and please wash your hands frequently.

We hope that you will be able to attend the rescheduled dates and you will be contacted when those dates are confirmed. If not, we will work out logistics regarding a refund or credit for future seminars.

Regarding Levels of Participant's Prior Knowledge

RID requires presenters to identify a single level of participants' prior knowledge necessary when attending a workshop, presentation, or seminar from these categories:

Little/None
Some
Extensive
Teaching

The reality is that individual participants from all of these levels of prior knowledge have the opportunity to learn together in the Foundations series. Historically, participants have attended the Foundations of Interpreting Seminar Series at all of these Prior Knowledge levels.

The Foundations of Interpreting Seminar Series is designed to engage each individual from their own place of learning framed within the Integrated Model of Interpreting (IMI).
